This siren warning system was installed to alert the residents of Nag Dahal of a 'glacial lake outburst flood' coming from Tsho Rolpa, a high risk glacial lake located 50km upstream along the Tamakoshi River. Nag Dahal is now scheduled to be completely flooded by the 650MW Tamakoshi III Hydropower Project, which includes a 104m impoundment to facilitate its 'peaking run of the river design' that will inundate 85 households along 12km of the Tamakoshi River. Residents of Simle who participated in the May 2013 strike against the Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project. The strike was prompted by landslides and erosion resulting from the tunnel blasting, but also by inadequate social mitigation efforts, including failure to deliver compensation. Simle, Rasuwa. 2013
