Looking up toward where the avalanche came from.
Acres of trees blown down by the blast. The Langtangpa are hoping to salvage this timber to rebuild, but need permission from the Langtang National Park.
Tibetan scriptures amid the rubble of the gomba (monastery) immediately below the village of Langtang. This building was destroyed by the pressure wave from the avalanche, but not directly buried (thankfully). Members of the Langtang community have made some efforts to recover objects from the gomba, but many things still remain. I attended a ghewa funerary ceremony here the night before the earthquake, and the majority of the people who were there that night are gone.
